The Equal Access to Education Fund is a collection of organizations that impactfully address the lack of access to quality education faced by children living in poverty in the U.S. and abroad. Increasing access to education not only provides a pathway out of poverty for children, but grows economies and improves the health and longevity of communities. The nonprofits featured in the Fund seek to alleviate some of the most significant barriers to education worldwide, including low literacy rates, gender discrimination, a lack of adequately trained teachers, and a lack of funding for classrooms and learning materials.

An inclusive, diverse environment that positively impacts people, society, and the planet is the foundation of Cisco’s thriving culture. Rise Against Hunger supports safety net programs that provide nourishment, as well as additional skills training or services that support the difficult journey out of poverty. Join Cisco and Rise Against Hunger to provide meals in schools to encourage increased enrollment and attendance, and meals distributed in hospitals and clinics to support patients’ nutritional needs and complement their treatments. All donations will be matched up to $10,000 USD as part of your annual matching allocation from the Cisco Foundation.

LifeConnections Fitness Center presents the 3rd annual 5K Race. This event was started to provide an activity for employees to get moving while also working to raise funds for local charities. This fun event includes a Halloween 5K Fun Run/Walk, music, and activities. The entire event is about fitness, fun, and sportsmanship. Employees, contractors, friends, and family are invited to harness the Cisco spirit and celebrate Halloween traditions by participating in the 5K – by supporting the community through the Community Impact Annual Campaign. This year we will be raising funds for the YMCA of the North Shore, Boston Self Help Center, Special Olympics Massachusetts, and Greater Boston Food Bank. Helping Hand for Relief & Development is a global humanitarian relief and development organization responding to human sufferings in emergency and disaster situations around the world. In addition to our emergency relief efforts in natural or man-made disasters, we also work on long term relief and development programs. HHRD was established to fulfill our responsibility towards humanity regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, class, location, religion, color, cultural diversity and social background, with a special focus in countries where the majority of the population lives below the poverty line.

In memory of Baylor's brother, Brandon Templeton Gray, Cisco SVS would like to help support the Raleigh Rescue Mission. Brandon struggled for many years with drug addiction. This addiction affected his ability to get a job, find housing and overall created a cycle of despair for him. Raleigh Rescue Mission has helped over 750,000 men, women, and children in NC struggling with addiction, trauma, family tragedy, homelessness, and health issues for nearly 60 years. They work to help break these cycles and empower people to rebuild their lives.

Habitat for Humanity - Brazil! The EIC program is doing their FIRST EVER global Give Back event! In 2019 a team of volunteers from CISCO will volunteer in Caruaru, Brazil 2019 to build water tanks for families living in poverty with no access to clean water. Many people living in the region of Caruaru work mainly in agriculture which provides families with wage that is far less than the minimum wage in Brazil. In the summer months there is a lack of rainfall in the region which results in plantations diminishing and, consequently, income that families make from cultivating their own crops are reduced. The lack of water access in Caruaru forces women, children, and the elderly to walk long distances several times a week in order to collect a decent supply of water for their homes. In many cases, the walk can take up to two hours each way. As such, it is very common for children in the region to drop out of school due to their time being taken up with transporting water to their home. Women who dedicate part of their day to fetching water also cannot work in stable jobs resulting in a lack of income for the household. The use of unclean water greatly increases the communities of Caruaru risk of contracting diseases and other health issues. This project aims to help families have access to safe, clean water through roof repairs and water tank construction.

Last year, the VMC SA team spent some time in Colombia at the Fundación Dones de Misericordia, which provides protection and education to children and a home to elderly people living in unsafe conditions. We came hoping we would be able to do some good, but not really knowing what to expect. When we left, most of us, as well as the children, were in tears and everybody was hugging. The children don't really get a lot of visitors and not surprisingly, it turned out that the only thing they really wanted from us was love. The foundation is a home for children and elderly people abandoned by their families. The old folks read to the children, providing the love they need and the children who read, read to the elderly, giving them the family they need.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Beloslava Krasteva is one of the leading female chess players in Bulgaria. She is a Fide Master with outstanding achievements. Some of her accomplishments are: - 2 medals from European Youth Chess Championships in 2017 and 2018 - State champion for 2019 - State champion for 2020 - Third (final) norm for Woman Grandmaster Through her remarkable performance at the great chess forums, she reinforces Bulgaria's leading role in this outstanding sport. It is of great importance to her that she has the opportunity to play for Bulgaria despite the difficulties she faces. In order for her preparation to be complete, Beloslava has to play in strong and significant international tournaments. Each competition lasts about 10-12 days. During her stay, Beloslava needs to cover costs including: hotel, airplane tickets (where necessary), participation fees, training fee, food and coach expenses. The necessary funds on an annual basis are in the range 12 000 - 15 000 BGN. (6 x international competitions 1200 - 1500 BGN each) + participations on World and European Championships (from 4000 to 5000 BGN). We would highly appreciate your kind and invaluable support to help Beloslava’s participations in future international chess events.

We are a team of six Cisco Employees who are walking 50KM to raise money for the Alzheimers Society .. When and Where Why .. The Pavelka Step Challenge has inspired us to keep going with our walking each day and so inspired us to enter the North Downs 50K Walk at the end of September and raise money for this really worth while cause .. The Congenital Heart Defect Coalition (CHD Coalition for short) is a national nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to improve the quality of life for children and adults born with heart disease, also known as a congenital heart defect or CHD.

It's not a race ... It's a journey. I am excited to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge. In addition to the physical challenge, I have committed myself to raising money for Make-A-Wish to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. With your help, it’s possible. Wish kids are some of the bravest and sweetest kids you'll ever know. They wish to work in a pickle factory, become a superhero, go snorkeling, give their baseball team new uniforms, and push all of the buttons in a tall building's elevator. Their innocence and unexpected wisdom stays with you. Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year. A lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of eligible kids. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
