This flood caused by the storm La DANA is one of the deadliest weather events in modern Spanish history. Valencia is still recovering from the catastrophic floods that have killed more than 200 people and devastating entire communities. While Valencia works to recover from this immense tragedy, many areas remain in critical need of support, particularly food and basic necessities for those affected. With the storm ongoing and other regions still at risk of flooding, the immediate focus must be on locating those still missing and providing essential assistance to those displaced. The coming days will be crucial in coordinating relief efforts for those whose lives have been upended.

Men and women can also get involved by committing to Move and walking or running 60km over the month, or by hosting an event – bringing together friends to change the face of men’s health.

Jerry Ray Woods Jr., 53 years old of Clifton Park, NY, passed away on October 29, 2024. Born in 1971 in Stow, OH to Louise and Jerry Woods. He was a devoted husband to Dione Woods and a loving father to Samantha and Brianna Woods. Jerry was hard-working and dedicated. He spent 30 years working as an electrical engineer for ASML, where he was known for his leadership and dependability. Throughout his time at ASML, Jerry made lifelong friends who would describe him as the kind of person who took care of others and made everyone feel comfortable. Jerry was the kind of friend who noticed the little things and went out of his way to make sure his friends and family were taken care of. He always made time for his family and his passions, despite his many responsibilities. Though Jerry may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of integrity and kindness, who always knew how to make everyone smile. Jerry left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Jerry's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed everything from camping, fishing, biking and hunting to running, cooking and playing golf. Some of the most memorable vacations were spent in the Outer Banks with his family and dearest friends. As his children grew older and played sports, he was dedicated and committed in supporting them by either coaching, volunteering his time, or just being a spectator. He loved watching them swim and play softball or volleyball. From a young age, Jerry was an unwavering fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Saturdays were spent watching them play. If you knew Jerry, he was a foodie and beer connoisseur. A typical weekend involved Jerry cooking or smoking food on the grill for his closest family and friends. He loved meeting up with his running group, The Clifton Park Beer Runners, and enjoying a beer at The Other One. His love for cooking was something he shared with his friends and family, leaving a mark on us that will never fade. He is survived by his spouse Dione Woods, his children Samantha and Brianna Woods, his parents Louise and Jerry Woods, his sister Angela Burgess, his nieces and nephews Shelby and Kyle Burgess, Amanda Smith, Katherine Huffman, Tyler Driver, Cassidy Wallace, and Gregory Wallace, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. A period of visitation will take place at St. Edward the Confessor on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon, immediately followed by funeral mass at 12:00 noon. We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. In lieu of flowers please send donations in Jerry's name to NF Northeast. We have chosen this foundation in honor of Natalia to support her and her family in the fight against cancer. Natalia is 4 years old and is a Clifton Park resident. She is currently undergoing chemo for a brain tumor which is a complication of her NF1 diagnosis. Neurofibromatosis (NF) is the most common genetic disorder caused by a single gene and affects three times as many people as Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington's Disease, Tay-Sachs and Cystic Fibrosis combined. In the aftermath of devastating Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the Red Cross and US Humane Society are continuing to assist local organizations to provide disaster relief, emergency care, animal rescue, and rebuilding assistance for those affected and displaced by these disasters.

As millions of people evacuate in advance of Milton, gas and hotel rooms are in high demand. We want everyone to know that shelters are open to support people and pets in need of safety. In fact, some 32,000 people spent Tuesday night in evacuation shelters managed by the Global fund and other organizations.The Hurricane Milton Relief Fund is dedicated to supporting the communities devastated by the unprecedented storm that swept through our region. Our mission is to provide immediate relief and long-term recovery assistance to those affected. Your generous contributions will enable us to supply emergency shelter, food, medical care, and rebuild critical infrastructure. Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida on October 9th, 2024 as a powerful Category 3 hurricane. More than 3 million households were left without power as the storm traveled from Florida's western coast through central Florida and into the Atlantic. Severe flooding and damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure were left in the storm's wake, and multiple fatalities were reported as tornadoes connected to the storm's weather patterns touched down in St. Lucie County. An estimated 11 million people are at risk of flash flooding and there are reports of downed power lines, trees, and other forms of potentially dangerous debris left behind due to the storm's powerful winds. Relief efforts are underway, and the following nonprofits are providing critical resources in the form of emergency shelter, food, water, medical treatment, and supplies to those impacted. Your donation to this Fund will help support both immediate and long-term recovery efforts. Last week, Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida as a Category 4 storm and has caused devastating destruction across the southeastern US. Our hearts and thoughts are with those affected by this disaster including our associates, their families and friends and our customers and communities. This fund has been setup to support our people and communities, by donating to the established non profits who are on the ground supporting relief efforts.
