On Friday, June 24, 2022, the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, effectively eliminating the constitutional right to abortion. As a result of this decision, several states have already severely restricted or outright banned abortion access with many others expected to follow suit, putting the health of women throughout the country at risk. These pre-vetted organizations are actively working to dismantle a system which threatens a woman's right to choose. These organizations are also working to increase access to quality reproductive health care. Their work advocates for women's fundamental rights through policy, research, education and monetary funds.

About This Fund: For those who don’t have a car, we provide bus or plane tickets to the nearest clinic which can help you decide whether you can access an abortion, in any state. We work with clinics to offset fuel costs if a car is available for transportation. Any person driving several hours to an abortion clinic needs a place to stay before and after their procedure. Additionally, Texas law requires a 24-hour waiting period for anyone who chooses abortion. This means most abortion appointments are a minimum of 2-days long: one day for the consultation and a second for the procedure. Longer procedures can last as long as 5 days, not counting travel time. We book with friendly hotels vetted by our group or suggested by the clinic. You may have heard about the 6-week abortion ban that went into effect September 1, 2021. This law does not criminalize a person for obtaining an abortion. Rather, those who perform abortions or assist a person in obtaining an abortion after 6-weeks may face civil liability. Moreover, with the recent overturn of Roe v. Wade we fear. The flood situation in Assam remained grim over the last few months with over 54.5 lakh people still affected and 100+ deaths reported till date. Brahmaputra and Barak rivers along with its tributaries are in spate in most of the affected districts and vast tracts of land remained inundated in 32 of the total 36 districts in the state. The flood waters, however, receded in a few places. According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) bulletin Kopili river is flowing above the danger level at Kampur in Nagaon district, Disang river in Sivasagar, Brahmaputra at Nimatighat, Tezpur, Goalpara and Dhubri, Barak river at Karimganj, Cachar and Hailakandi district and Kushiara at Karimganj. The worst affected districts are Barpeta where 11,29,390 are affected, followed by Kamrup with 7,89,496, Dhubri with 5,97,153 and Nagaon with 5,03,450 people in the flood, according to a bulletin of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA). The flood has damaged 218 roads and 20 bridges, besides breaching two embankments in Kamrup district. A crop area of 99,026 hectares and 33,17,086 animals have been affected. On June 22nd, 2022 a powerful earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan. That afternoon, the toll had already reached at least 1,000 casualties and more than 1,500 more injured. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 5.9-magnitude earthquake occurred around 1:30 a.m. local time. It was felt across most of the country, and because it took place near the border of Pakistan, the country was also affected. Armed Forces Day is the annual opportunity to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces, past and present, and the families that have supported them in turn. This fund has been established for your to offer donations in support of the planned military-style physical training session or the alternative of making a small sacrifice and give up an indulgence such as: • Your posh take away coffee from your favourite barista • A pint in the local • Taking your car to the local car wash • That cheeky bottle of wine • A takeaway meal • A round of golf • Or whatever your guilty pleasure is? By donating you'll be supporting the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) who exist to relieve need, suffering and distress amongst the Armed Forces, veterans and their families in order to support their independence and dignity. They help by providing direct support to individuals in need of physical or emotional care. Addiction, relationship breakdown, debt, homelessness, post-traumatic stress, depression and disability are all issues that can affect our members of our Armed Forces community. On June 19, 1865 - a full two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued - news of the end of slavery finally reached Texas. Since then, Juneteenth, also known as Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day, has become a time to recognize and celebrate the culture, contributions, and achievements of African Americans. Early celebrations often served a dual purpose as political rallies to give voting instructions to newly freed enslaved peoples. However, in the early 20th century, economic and political forces led to a decline in Juneteenth celebrations due to state laws and amendments being passed that disenfranchised Black people and excluded them from voting, such as the Jim Crow laws. The Civil Rights Movement re-invigorated the holiday. In 2020, in the midst of several high-profile deaths of Black men at the hands of police, Juneteenth started to become more widely known and its significance particularly important. Systemic racism continues to plague the United States, and the struggle for true Black liberation continues to this day. Join WizeHive in supporting organizations that continue to work on dismantling white supremacy and eliminating systemic racism. The WizeHive Juneteenth Fund is composed of nonprofits with missions that address these complex, pervasive relics of oppression through education, policy, advocacy, and access to quality healthcare and other direct services. XERA is a social, non-profit organization that links vulnerable groups to the community and watches over their rights. They are based in Barcelona and are working with children from different backgrounds, giving them a place to study, to socially interact and to be taken care of. Besides that they are working with persons with disabilities and running a labour inclusion program. XERA organizes volunteering activities with the DSC and we want to establish a long term relationship with them.
